Taking the Open Road

I’m very excited to be sharing this news. The time has finally come for me to take a leap of faith. I am leaving my “secure” day job as I’ve accepted contracts working with wonderfully conscious women. I will be able to provide for my needs and fulfill my responsibilities (always a concern when making a jump towards our calling). I will also gain more of a precious commodity: time.

This career move – which let’s face it, is more of a lifestyle choice – has been forming for a while. I have been searching for the right format to allow my life to blossom. I’ve been dancing off-beat, hearing my own drum but being distracted by others’ melodies. My inner voice could not shout louder than all the doubt I had for too long.

There are kind ways to bring about change.

It took a while for my heart to calm my head and to coax myself to see the truth: a career change is possible and I don’t have to suffer through it. I don’t have to lose my house or eat like a student or live like a starving artist. I have been patient with myself. There are kind ways. I found mine.

I believe I have something beautiful to offer, and it'll start with serving wonderful conscious businesses from my home, while spending more time here on BrightStarWoman.com.

As of October 19, I am completely stepping into the solopreneur, freelancer world. My hope is that my ideas will form and my projects will take off. I believe I have something beautiful to offer, and it’ll start with serving wonderful conscious businesses from my home, while spending more time here, on Bright Star Woman.

As scary as it is, it is also thrilling to face the unknown. I’m taking to the open road, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride!

What adventure are you preparing? What “open road” stories do you have to share?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Meet Nala.

I’m a proud mama of this playful kitty we named Nala (meaning “gift”, in Swahili). She came to us in spontaneous circumstances and we took her in. We weren’t planning on adopting a cat but we’re very happy she joined our family.

She’s young and smart and she took no time at all to train. She loves chasing balls and toy mice, in fact, she’s quite the hunter. She’s fascinated by showers and has a casual interest in gardening… ahem! What can we say? She’s the perfect cat for us.

Even though Nala’s arrival was not planned, we are so grateful for her. She helps us stay grounded and present. She’s an instant de-stressor and we have lively morning chats. Life doesn’t always give us what we want, but it always gives us what we need, as long as we say “Yes!”.

This Thanksgiving, with many unexpected adventures in 2015, we’re thankful for the surprises life bring us too…

What have you been grateful for?  What are you happy you said yes to? How can you open up to life’s great bounty?
