Holistic Wellness Coaching is an intuitive process where the coach brings the client’s awareness to their energy field (or bodies: body, mind, heart and soul), their mindset, their habits, environment and beliefs, to help them suss out their debilitating patterns. We work on healing the causes (often energetic) while supporting them in finding their own sustainable solutions in creating holistic wellness!

Holistic Coaching & Tools

Holistic coaching is about empowering a client to create intentional choices and thus find meaning in their lives. The ‘holistic’ approach acknowledges that whatever we are healing and improving in ourselves and in our life, overlaps with many other aspects and that our wellness, our happiness and contentment, our fulfilling relationships, our spirituality and our purposeful work are all interconnected.

Mercedes’ approach to coaching is intuitive, but her tools are based in both modern science and ancient practices, giving you the best of both worlds, and the best chance of creating lasting, positive and meaningful change.

Mercedes’ consultations and sessions are all done on video chat for the most convenience while still having a personal touch experience.

Here is a summary of the tools she may use throughout the course of your coaching relationship.


Coaching is the art of asking powerful questions to support the client in their self-discovery and empowering them to find their own solutions. For the client, this creates a greater sense of alignment, ownership, accountability and follow-through.

EFT Tapping

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) is a discipline born out of NLP (see below) and Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Meridian theory. Together with the practitioner, the client taps on meridian points while saying key phrases to help re-establish the flow of energy in the body, releasing negative emotions and even traumas.


Hypnotherapy is the practice of using hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. In other words, the practitioner induces mild hypnosis (always a wakeful and consenting state) to speak with the subconscious mind, in order to release debilitating beliefs and invite empowering ones. This enables the client to create the desired life situation. Hypnotherapy is very similar to the indigenous practice of journeying and vision quests.


Meditation is an ancient practice often associated with yogic practice, but has many forms and has been recognized by scientists as an effective and powerful tool in supporting mental health, reducing chronic pain and inflammation, assisting in managing many conditions, and managing stress effectively. Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP, is the practice of shaping your life experience and external reality through mindful word choices.


Nutrition is the study of how food affects the body. Nutrition is often overlooked, but can have a huge impact on more than just weight; it can affect hormonal health, brain function, alleviate anxiety and depression, and more!


Reiki is an energy-based practice that translates from Japanese to English as “Universal Life Force Energy”. It is the healing art of channeling life force into our bodies. Interestingly, reiki has started being used in hospitals to support recovery and pain management programs. Reflexology is the ancient practice of acupressure, where pressure applied to key points in the feet, hands and/or ears activates the meridians and re-establishes the body’s natural ability to heal and restore itself.  Mercedes practises hand reflexology, specifically.


Yoga is the ancient practice of wellness and spiritual health that was born in India over 8 000 years ago. Yoga has 8 limbs of practice, one of which we know well in the western world as “asanas” (postures), or the “physical yoga”.  Meditation (dhyana, dharana, pratyahara), breathwork (pranayama) and observances (yamas and niyamas) are the other limbs of yoga. Credentials & Background

She is a registered yoga and meditation teacher with the Yoga Alliance, an Usui Reiki, Blue Star Reiki and Karuna Om Reiki Master teacher, and a keeper of indigenous rites, including the Rite of the Womb. Through the CTAA, she is an accredited life coach, EFT, NLP and hypnotherapy practitioner, holistic nutritionist, and reflexologist. In addition, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Philosophy from the University of Ottawa.

Bright Star Woman’s (Mercedes) approach to coaching is intuitive and holistic. She brings her experience as a coach, reiki master,  yoga and meditation teacher and carrier of indigenous rites to help clients target areas in their life that require healing.

She honours her indigenous ancestry, as well as her French Canadian and Irish heritage. She loves to read, watercolour, garden and of course, spend time with her husband and three children.
